EIACP PC-RP (Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Programme, Programme Centre–Resource Partner) on Biodiversity (Flora), Botanical Survey of India, Howrah organized a plantation programme to promote ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign under #Plant4Mother initiative at Rajapur Tapashili Primary School, Rajapur, Karatberia, Uluberia, Howrah–711316on 27.07.2024 (Saturday). The programme inaugurated by Mr. Pradip Kumar Ghorui, Founder Secretary, Bharat Sebabrata Mahasangha, Rajapur, Uluberia, Howrah, Mr. Debnath Polley, Head Master, Rajapur Tapashili Primary School, Rajapur, Karatberia, Uluberia and Jagannath Karak, Panchayet Pradhan Memeber, Baniban Panchayet, Uluberia. After inauguration Dr. Soumen Gantait, Programme Officer, BSI EIACP PC-RP briefed about the objectives of the programme. He also explained the importance of plantation and how the plants benefit us in our daily life. Total 95 participants participated in the programme, out of which 43 students along with his/her mother planted different plant like Azadirachta indica (Neem), Ficus benghalensis (Bot/Bargad), Ficus religiosa (Aswatha/Peepal), Tamarindus indica (Tentul), Nyctanthes arbor-tristis (Siuli), Cocos nucifera (Narikel), Lagerstroemia indica (Jarul), Mangifera indica (Mango), Manilkara japota (Chiku/Sabeda), Alstonia scholaris (Chhatim), etc. in the school premises. The name of the student and his/her mother name are tagged with each and every plant. Mission LiFE programme themes are discussed and leaflets are distributed among the students, parents and teachers.
