Awareness campaigning programme

 

Conservation of Mangroves of Sundarban Biosphere Reserve
 

 

An awareness campaigning programme on ‘Conservation of Mangroves of Sundarban Biosphere Reserve’ was held at Herobhanga Vidyasagar Vidyamandir(HS), Jharkhali Park Road, Jharkhali, West Bengal - 743312 in association with ENVIS Resource Partner on Biodiversity (Flora), Botanical Survey of India (Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India, New Delhi), Howrah on 24th August, 2022. Dr. Animesh Maji, Research Associate, Botanical Survey of India delivered an interesting lecture on ‘Sustainable utilisation of Mangroves resources for local inhabitants of Sundarbans Biosphere Reserve, West Bengal’. A total of 123 students of class 10, 11 & 12 attended this awareness programme. Dr. K. Karthigeyan, Scientist ‘E’, CNH, BSI & In-charge, ENVIS RP on Biodiversity (Flora), BSI presented the Pamphlets of ENVIS RP, BSI to Sri Sankar Prasad Mukherjee, Head Master of Herobhanga Vidyasagar Vidyamandir(HS), Jharkhali, West Bengal.
