EIACP Resource Partner on Biodiversity

BSI EIACP PC-RP (Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Programme, Programme Centre– Resource Partner) on Biodiversity (Flora), Botanical Survey of India, Howrah conducted a programme to observe ‘World Wildlife Day 2024’ at Sodepur, Pursurah, Hooghly- 712415 in collaboration with ‘UDAAN’, Purba Bardhaman on 03.03.2024 (Sunday).

 

The programme started by Dr. Soumen Gantait, Programme Officer, BSI EIACP PC RP briefing about the importance of the day. Dr. Animesh Maji, EX RA, BSI delivered a lecture on this year theme “Connecting People and Planet: Exploring Digital Innovation in Wildlife Conservation”, recognizes the impact of digital interventions on ecosystems and communities in an increasingly connected world. Drawing competition was also organized in this programme. The topics of the drawing competition were ‘Biodiversity’ or ‘Save Wildlife and Save Environment’. 54 students of eight different schools of Pursurah were participated. Drawing kits were distributed among the students. Prizes were given to the winners of drawing competition and participating certificates were also given to all the participants. An awareness campaigning programme on Mission LiFE was also organized on that day. Dr. Gantait briefed about the Mission LiFE themes among the students.Mission LiFE caps and leaflets were distributed to the students.  Mission LiFE pledge was also taken by all participants.
