SCIENCE EXPRESS CLIMATE ACTION SPECIAL TRAIN

Barrackpore Railway Station on 1st and 2nd May 2017
Science Express is a unique and innovative mobile exhibition on a 16-coach AC train. It is a unique collaboration between Department of Science and Technology, and Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Government of India to create and raise awareness on climate change, and strategies to combat it through mitigation and adaptation.
Science Express Climate Action Special (SECAS) Train was stationed at Barrackpore Railway Station on 1st and 2nd May 2017. The mobile exhibition at Barrackpore Railway Station was opened to public after the inaugural by Sri Basudev Panda, Divisional Railway Manager, Sealdah Division. Sri Dilip Surkar, Executive Director, Vikram A. Sarabhai Community Science Centre, Ahmedabad & In-charge, SECAS, was the chief guest for the inaugural function. Sri Ujjal Kanti Roy, Traffic Inspector, Sealdah Division and Sri Pradipto Bhattacharya, Station Superintendent, Barrackpore were also present during the function.
