The Central Government is launching a 'Plastic waste-free India' campaign from Pune city on 13th February, 2016 to create awareness about the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016. This event involving students is only the beginning. It will be inaugurated by Shri Prakash Javadekar, the Honourable Union Minister of State (I/C) for Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India. The Botanical Survey of India, Western Regional Centre, Pune is also creating awareness by printing of pamphlets, banners and poster.
